BOSCASTLE couple Robin and Jackie Haddy are celebrating, having been awarded one of this year's 'Fine Farm Produce Awards' from the National Trust.
The awards, now in their sixth year, celebrate the breadth and quality of produce farmed, grown or processed on land owned or managed by the National Trust, including tenant farms, orchards and gardens.
Robin and Jackie breed North Devon cows on 350 acres of National Trust land and were acknowledged for their North Devon beef topside and mince.
"The mince is excellent, with a good amount of fat," said Fine Farm Produce Awards judge Karen Barnes.
She enjoyed the beef's "earthy, beefy" flavour and texture.
Robin commented:?"We have over 300 cattle and they graze on grassland right up to the cliffs on the coast. They're out grazing all year and have a very varied and healthy diet which benefits the quality of the meat."
