THE Magpies have a high team spirit as evidenced by Stephen Murphy's speech at the HAFC/Rotary Race Night.

Holsworthy led for most of the game and only a late goalmouth mix-up gave the visitors a soft equaliser. Be that as it may, Holsworthy played really well and deserved the win, they displayed so much more confidence than in previous weeks.

After a bright start Levi Landricombe continued his goalscoring exploits scoring after having had a free kick well saved.

Significant team changes strengthened the defence and Anthony Giordani had his first start after a couple of substitute appearances, and he had a blinder with Joint Manager Keith Rickard saying at half time that he looked as if he had been in the side all season as he was performing with such composure.

Throughout the first half the team played well although individual highlights were rare.

Just after half-time with Holsworthy leading 1-0, Torpoint had the ball in the net but it was disallowed for offside, Alan Clarke was then brought down in the penalty area but no penalty was awarded.

With only two minutes or so to go, the Holsworthy defence got into a muddle and Torpoint equalised with a headed goal. So disappointing as the defence had worked well throughout the game and they did not deserve to concede.

Thankfully the miss of the match by Torpoint's Adam Carter maintained the status quo in the final minute but one must feel for the players who fully deserved to take all three points. Importantly the performance was so much better than of late and everyone must take the credit, the game was good entertainment for the spectators.
