The Tourism and Rural Access in Cornwall project is being awarded a grant of £1.5 million by South West Rural Development Agency for a new multi-use trail that will run from Bude to Holsworthy and the Ruby Country following the old rail links as much as possible.

Meanwhile, after many years of discussions and negotiations with land­owners on the Hatherleigh through Holsworthy to Bridgerule section, Devon County Council appear to be making positive progress with two sections having already been opened this year.

Richard Reid of the Ruby Country Partnership said they would be keeping a keen eye on the developments and where possible assisting both counties in their engagement with landowners along the route.
