TEIGNMOUTH is rated as one of the five best south coast resorts in a new book.

Tom Fort has written about a cycle journey along the whole of the channel coast, visiting all the seaside towns.

And Teignmouth comes out well, with the accolade: 'Teignmouth has everything the seaside lover could want.'

He reckons the recipe for a successful resort is to offer a warm welcome to all and sundry, without sacrificing charm and distinctiveness.
