John Ward of Boscastle, has recently published a book of his late wife's poems in aid of Cancer Research UK. In 2009, John's late wife, Jean, after battling with breast cancer, unfortunately died of cancer of the lung. It was after this that John got in touch with the Cancer Research UK Camelford Committee as he wanted to bring Jean's poems to a wider audience and put them into a booklet. John said: "I want to raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research UK." John has paid for the first batch of poems and all proceeds from the sales will go to the charity. John explained that he has given 500 copies to the Camelford Committee of Cancer Research UK and depending on how successful they are after a month, he hopes to send a copy of the book to the main branch in Truro and then hopefully will sell them across Cornwall and Devon. John added: "I have lots of plans and I am no longer sat at home worrying about things, it is taking a lot of time and giving me plenty of satisfaction as well as other people. The last poem of the book 'Echoes of Me' is a poem that stands out on its own." The 'Echoes of Me' book of poems by Jean Ward has now been printed and are available in good local outlets. John explained that there are three people in Camelford that are going to sell them, a person in Boscastle and the artist of the booklet, John Blight. Priced at £3 each, they can also be bought from the Cancer Research UK Camelford Committee and various places in Camelford.
