THE Cornish All Blacks gained a bonus point in the Midlands with four tries as they completed the double over Stourbridge. Club President Jim O'Hara described it as 'a fantastic team performance.'

Stourbridge took the lead in the 17th minute when full back Ali Bressington kicked a penalty for offside.

The home side took advantage of handling mistakes by the All Blacks to increase their lead against the run of play, right wing Chris Tennuci crossing for an unconverted try.

Stourbridge appeared content to play attritional forward rugby without much handling, while the All Blacks were keen to break out whenever possible.

Just before half time when Stourbridge collapsed a scrum near their own line and it was reset and collapsed again, the referee awarded a penalty try. In the meantime the visitors' scrum half Lewis Webb had crossed in the corner. The try was converted by fly half Tony Yapp, to reduce the deficit to 8-7.

In the second half the All Blacks dominated up front. However, in the 52nd minute Stourbridge scored from a maul with No 8 Mark Evans touching down and Bressington converting.

This reverse spurred the All Blacks and a penalty kick found touch. From the lineout lock Bryn Jenkins took and from the drive over 20 yards the pack crossed with hooker Darren Semmens touching down wide out for Yapp to add the extras. The home lead was now only15-12.

From the restart the All Blacks pack released their backs and slick inter-passing saw centre Ryan Westren go over with the ever reliable Yapp again converting to put his side in front for the first time.

Home prop Andrew Lawrence was sin-binned for killing the ball, and with ten minutes to go the All Blacks struck again. Another lineout in the Stourbridge corner, lock Ben Hilton took, and from an unstoppable 13-man maul wing Jason Luff went over with Yapp again converting to pull his side further away 15-26.

However, Stourbridge had the final say deep into injury time as the All Blacks gave away a penalty try for killing the ball, with Jenkins sin-binned for the offence. Bressington converted, but it was too little too late.
