THE revival of the ancient tradition of Morwenstow's 'Blessing of the Sea' service was revived on the beach at Duckpool on Sunday, August 12.
The service was taken by the Vicar of Morwenstow and Kilkhampton, the Rev Richard Ward-Smith.
The last time such a service was held was in the early 1930s.
Following a procession from King William's Bridge, led by Bude Town Band and with Arthur Bryant carrying a ceremonial cross, the service attracted a large group of worshippers.
