REFERRING to your article regarding the planned traveller site at Derriton (the 'Post', May 21), it is blatant bias by Torridge District Council in favour of the traveller site.
If any member of the public had purchased this site planning permission would be a definite no, no. If you are or have been working and paying tax all your life and never been out of work then any help or assistance from the authorities is out of the question. Special circumstances only apply to MPs, immigrants, travellers and such like.
Any member of the public that has had any reasonable planning application refused by Torridge District Council is entitled to feel discriminated against, as I do, especially as 90 per cent of the public are against planning permission being granted to the traveller site. When are the authorities ever going to take notice of public opinion?
