A THREE bedroomed semi-detached house in Coleford which was extensively damaged in an explosion is to be sold.
The house in High Nash has been put up for auction with a guide price of £40,000.
The house, which remains shored up with structural supports, will be auctioned at the Parc Golf Club, in Coedkernow, Newport, on Wednesday July 8.
But selling agents Bidmead Cook have added a warning about the condition of the property to their listing of the forthcoming auction on the internet. They wrote: "This three bedroom semi-detached house has suffered from internal and external damage as a result of a gas explosion in February 2015. All potential buyers are advised to make their own enquiries with regards to the condition of the property. We have requested a copy of the structural report which we will make available upon receipt."
The blast was of such force that the walls of the house bulged and cracked, and glass from the windows landed in gardens on the other side of the road.
The occupiers of the house, a woman and her three children, were not in the property at the time of the explosion.
Kenneth Brown, 43, of Park Road, Gloucester, was rescued by neighbours from the property after the incident. He was taken to hospital where he was treated for burns and cuts, before being arrested by police on a charge of arson.
Speaking at a preliminary hearing about the case in March, Judge Jamie Tabor QC instructed Brown to be mentally assessed before he would face the charge at a full court on July 27.
The house was last sold in October 2010, for £128,000.
