VINTAGE was the name of the game at Yeolmbridge last weekend when the Methodist Church building was transformed into a museum of the twentieth century. The two-day exhibition attracted several hundred people and provided a fascinating insight into everyday life in the area.
The event was the brainchild of Mary Cole who was looking for a way of attracting people into the chapel while at the same time raising money to help maintain the place of worship which has stood on the site at Ladycross since 1879.
However at the end of the event Mary said: "The £2000 raised was brilliant but it has almost become a by product of the weekend. There has been such a happy and relaxed atmosphere with literally crowds of interested people. We have all shared interesting memories and stories, reminisced about using or wearing the various things on display, and met people we haven't seen for ages. It's been really good."
