A LIFE-long Lydney resident has presented a cheque for £100 to the town's hospital.
When Joan Prosser celebrated her 90th birthday she asked friends and family to make a donation to the hospital instead of buying gifts for her.
She presented a cheque for £100 to Brian James, the treasurer of the Friends of Lydney Hospital.
Mrs Prosser said: "Our family has used the hospital's facilities over many years and in 2001 my husband Jack spent the last two weeks of his life there where he was very well looked after.
"We are proud of our local hospital."
