A TEENAGER from Holsworthy celebrated her birthday in an unconventional way recently.

Heather Bailey celebrated her 13th birthday on Saturday, November 11, by chopping off her locks for charity.

Heather’s hair was plaited before the cut and a whopping 15 inch length of plait was taken off.

Her hair will now be donated to the Little Princess Trust, who will turn her golden locks into a wig for a child with cancer.

Heather and her twin sister, Natalie, are pupils at Launceston College.

Heather said: “My friend had cancer and wore a wig and when she passed away I decided that on my birthday I would have my hair cut, so it could be sent to Little Princess charity.”

Heather has already raised over £300. Find her JustGiving ‘Heather Bailey ‘The Cut’ to donate.
