CORNWALL Council's Strategic Planning Committee's decision to reject plans for a £90million development at Binhamy Farm was met with applause by the large number of people who packed into the Falcon Hotel on Wednesday, August 19.
It was standing room only as the meeting got underway at 5pm, under the chairmanship of Neil Plummer.
The planning application had recently been refused by the East Sub Area Planning Committee, but was referred to the Strategic Planning Committee for ratification. The application had to be scrutinised to see if it meets the right criteria for refusal.
After a lot of discussion and a number of selected speakers, members of the committee voted in favour of a recommendation to refuse the plans.
