THE Easter bingo, organised by the Launceston Lions was to raise money for the Cornwall Air Ambulance and recently the club presented a cheque for £400 to Paul Ford of the air ambulance.

He spoke of the many missions flown by the air ambulance to enable patients to have a speedy trip to the appropriate hospital, depending upon their condition.

As well as raising money to cover the cost of operating the air ambulance — which gets no government funding.

The Cornwall Air Ambulance is raising money to purchase a next generation air ambulance helicopter to Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly by April 1, 2020 — a medically advanced, faster, better equipped aircraft that will save more time and more lives for the next 20 years.
