A GROUP of volunteers from the Launceston Area Christian Aid Action Group prior to the ‘Big Breakfast’ event which was held at Central Methodist Church, Launceston, on Saturday, December 1. This event, a first for the group of this kind, proved to be a popular one, and resulted in just over £1,000 being raised towards the £5,000 target set for the end of 2019 for the Ghana Community Project. This money is specifically targeted towards helping young adults, gain the skills and confidence to set up their own businesses as patterns of youth employment opportunities change rapidly with young people moving from the rural areas to the cities. A spokesman for the group said: “A big thank you to all who helped before, and on the day. We couldn’t have done it without you.”
