On Tuesday, April 21, Tintagel awoke to the smell of bacon cooking. What was this? It was preparations for the Big Breakfast. A group of friends in the village had got together to have an event to raise money for the Cornwall Air Ambulance. The day started with the first members of the public coming in for breakfast at 7am followed by children on their way to Sir James Smith's School, Camelford, while waiting for the bus. Parents then came in with the younger ones on their way to school. There was a steady number of people through out the morning until lunch time when it was a case of waiting for a place to sit. Over 150 meals were served with many people enjoying a chat in addition to a great meal. Thanks must be expressed to the helpers who gave up so much of their day and to the many who donated items of food. John Stratton said: "The day raised over £800 for the Air Ambulance which is greatly appreciated. Thank you Tintagel and the surrounding area."
