COMMEMORATIONS of the 200th anniversary of Battle of Waterloo were held in Holsworthy on Sunday.
More than 400 people visited the country fair and family fun day 'Waterloo 200' — the first time an event has been held in the town to commemorate Napoleon's defeat by the Duke of Wellington.
Residents of Waterloo Road in Holsworthy, united to create Waterloo 200, held at Rifleman's Barn.
Activities and entertainment took place throughout the day, including a birds of prey display, pony attractions and dog show which attracted a high number of entries and was judged by Phil Masters of Jaws Agility from Woolsery.
The Punch and Judy show provided enthusiasm and excitement amongst children, meanwhile a Father's Day obstacle race and tug o'war challenge, won by the Barkwill Construction Team, caused merriment all round.
There was the magic of Simon Whenmouth's working model steam railway, as well as the traditional plant, craft and wood turning stalls and the pottery and spinning demonstrations.
A hog roast, bangers and burgers, Sajla's Taaza Curry, tea and coffee and Farmer Tom's ice cream and, of course, the Holsworthy Ales beer tent proved popular, helping towards fundraising.
One of the organisers, Jacqui Higgs said it was a 'great day'.
