BRADWORTHY celebrated on Saturday morning with coffee and special cakes in the village hall in the square, as the community was presented with the prizes for winning this year's CPRE Devon Best Kept Village competition, large village group. Parish councillor Daphne Nicholls accepted the prizes, including the road sign, a framed certificate, the shield and Mole Valley Farmers vouchers. A display of photographs from the Bradworthy archive was also on show. The Best Kept Village Competition manifests the core aims and values of CPRE. A spokesperson for Devon CPRE said: "Our focus is to safeguard our rural communities as good places in which to live, work and enjoy life. The competition highlights and celebrates Devon's rural communities." For the full report, and a round-up of the area news and sport, see this week's edition of the Post.
