‘MASSIVE crowds’ turned out in their droves to see this year’s Camelford Carnival procession.

There was a very high standard of entries, with around 30 entries meaning this was up on last year.

Secretary Marney Baker said: “There were massive crowds, the best we have seen in years.

“Everything was wonderful, there were no problems at all.

“The standard of the floats was extremely high, entries were up on last year, with around 30 entries.

“It was a really good carnival.”

She expressed her thanks to anybody that helped in anyway with the carnival.

The carnival’s chosen charities this year are Little Acorns Nursery, Camelford Christmas Lights and Camelford and District Disabled Club.

Carnival results were:

Artistic floats — 1, Camelford Christmas Lights (Camelford Light Committee).

Under 16 floats — Peppa Pig and Muddy Puddles (Little Acorns Nursery).

Over 16 clubs/organisations — 1, Vroom (Souls Harbour); 2, Walt Disney (Camelford YFC); 3, Billy Elliott (Launceston YFC).

Trade — 1, RTC Plant Hire; 2, Camelford Leisure Centre.

Misc — 1, 1956 Green Goddess (Squire Family); 2, 1973 TAC1 (Squire Family); 3, Vintage Tractor (Ian Mills).

Walkers large group — 1, Harry Potter (Camelford Scouts); 2, The Queens Guards (Camelford Brownies); 3, Unemployed Camelford Bank Robbers (The Masons Arms).

Walkers small group — 1, Lego Mini Hero’s (Callcut Family); 2, Fairies (Camelford Rainbows); 3, The Adam’s Family (Wallace Family).

Walker under 7 — 1, Jenna Pooley (Christmas Angel).
