MORWENSTOW could not produce the same form which destroyed Lanreath in the Premier Division the previous week, writes Anna Francis.

Both teams played good football, however the game was won in the first half when a 25 yard belter from Andy Harris gave Wadebridge the lead. Tom Potterton added the next when he headed in a cross.

Wadebridge could have made it 3 - 0 but Mike Retter missed a penalty.

In the second half Morwenstow had the wind with them and tried to push the advantage, after three minutes Ashley Thomas broke through the home defence to see his shot go narrowly past the post. It was mostly one way traffic for Morwenstow but Wadebridge's home defence held strong.

Substitute Arron Bailey was unlucky not to see his shot go in after the ball was tipped onto the bar by the home 'keeper. Central defender Dan Metherell was also unlucky when he entered the box and his side-footed shot cleared the bar.

On one of the rare occasions that Wadebridge entered Morwenstow's half they found 'keeper Aaron Gregory in fine form.

In the closing ten minutes Morwenstow continued to press Wadebridge and were awarded a free kick inside the opposition's half and from the resulting free kick Djamel Bousahla's header landed at the 'keeper's foot.

Unfortunately Morwenstow had nothing to show for their efforts.

Also in the Premier Division Launceston drew 1-1 at Torpoint in a top of the table clash with Shane Hooper giving the Clarets to lead and Rob Eddy equalising.
