THE Launceston community threw themselves into the Christmas spirit last Thursday evening for the official switch-on of the town’s Christmas lights.

Organised by the Launceston Chamber of Commerce, the event on November 23, saw people gather for the lights switch on in the Square, followed by entertainment from Popchoir and Launceston Town Band, and Magic Martin for the children.
