THE 35th annual Ten Tors walk over Bodmin Moor, organised by the town’s Lions Club, took place in beautiful weather on Sunday.
The walk, across approximately 13 miles, started and finished at St Breward Football Club, and took in Brown Willy and Roughtor.
Three hundred and twenty five walkers took part, raising funds for nominated charities or to enhance their own clubs. Entries had to be closed early this year due to the number of those wishing to take part.
Among the causes benefitting from walkers on the day were Cornwall Hospice South West, Cornwall Air Ambulance and St Breward Football Club’s refurbishment project.
Bill May, of Bodmin Lions, said: “The walk went well and we were blessed with very good walking weather. It’s quite a hard walk but all baring three made it to the end.
“This year’s annual Bodmin Moor Ten Tors walk was the 35th organised by Bodmin Lions, so in that time all the people that have taken part have climbed the equivalent of Everest over 600 times, walked about five times around the world and raised over £250,000 for hundreds of charities.
“The event is put on with the kind permission of the land owners and commoners of Bodmin Moor.”
Thanks were expressed to all who helped and the entrants that took part.
