A BRIDGERULE man was surprised when a friend asked him to come and take photos of "some rather large" footprints last Thursday (May 23).

Just before 2pm a farmer visited John McDougall and explained he had found three double sets of large footprints in the mud. The prints were about two foot apart.

John believed the paws looked larger than an ordinary dog, and placed a 2p coin, about one inch, next to them to show the size difference.
