THE Bay View Inn recently celebrated its 10th anniversary at Widemouth, and along the way has raised some money for a local cause.

Cherylyn, Dave, Hayley and Wez Keene, owners of the Bay View Inn, near Bude, held BayFest on Sunday, July 3 and Monday, July 4, celebrating the inn’s 10th year, as well as raising money for local boy Corey Alway, who suffers from a rare condition resulting in him having up to 90 seizures a day.

BayFest included a weekend full of great live music, as well as a children’s entertainment afternoon on July 3, with an entertainer providing magic and balloon figurines, as well as face painting. All of this was free of charge, with the encouragement to donate as much as possible.

Hayley Keene said: “We’re in a good position here, letting people through the door all the time, so we thought it would be a great idea to raise some money as well.

“It went really well, and we’re really pleased with how BayFest went. We do wish that the weather was a little better, but you can’t have it all.”

Although the team at the Bay View Inn are still unsure of the final amount raised during BayFest, Hayley is positive that everyone’s efforts have contributed a great amount to the cause, and is sure that the Bay View Inn will see their loyal customers and supporters for many years to come.

She added: “We’d like to say thank you for the great community support and to the amazing team that work for us. We’d also like to thank the group of volunteers that gave up their precious time to help us at the weekend.”
