AFTER a few years of cold chilly Bude RNLI Open Days, this year it was hot and foggy.

Unfortunately, the conditions stopped the lifeboat from being launched, as it would not have been visible from the beach.

However, undeterred, the crew cooked up storm of a barbecue. The fundraising team — formerly the guild — supplied a variety of food and drink, and manned stalls; the shop sold souvenirs; and 'Friggin Riggin' and the 'Bencoolen Wreckers' sang their hearts out.

A spokesperson said: "All told, approximately £650 was raised, so a good day was had by all."
