A BEAWORTHY driver has been banned from the road for two years and fined £350 after pleading guilty to failing to provide a specimen for analysis.

Mr John Francis Peter O'Connell, aged 61, of St Albans House, Beaworthy, pleaded guilty at Bodmin Magistrates' Court on December 31, to failing to provide a specimen of blood for a laboratory test at Launceston on November 18 last year.

The court disqualified him for two years, fined him £350 and ordered him to pay £85 in Crown Prosecution Service costs and £15 victim surcharge.

The disqualification will be reduced by 24 weeks if Mr O'Connell satisfactorily completes a course approved by the Secretary of State by May 15 this year.
