A BUILDING and decorating products supplier from near Holsworthy is using £250,000 of funding to build an eco property.

North Devon-based supplier of sustainable building and decorating products, Mike Wye and Associates, is building a specialist eco property to showcase sustainable products and building skills, following £250,000 funding from Santander Business Banking. Two additional members of staff have been hired in preparation for this project.

The £250,000 funding from Santander Business Banking will enable Mike Wye and Associates to fund exemplar sustainable projects with the opportunity to showcase innovative specialist products such as recycled foam glass aggregate insulation, cork and wood fibre board and clay paints.

The company has recently won prestigious awards such as Best Builders’ Merchant for Self Builders at the Build It Awards, and Best Rural Manufacturing Business at the Rural Business Awards.

Gill Tesh, director at Mike Wye and Associates, said: “We are delighted with the support from Santander, which will allow us to further expand our presence in the market for sustainable building products and solutions and provide extra employment opportunities for enthusiastic and dedicated staff.”

Murray Smith, relationship director for Santander Business Banking, added: “Mike Wye and Associates has been at the forefront of sustainable building and decorating for nearly 25 years, before being eco-friendly was mainstream. We are confident the new property will showcase their skill and expertise and look forward to working with this innovative business closely throughout the next stage of its journey.”
