GEOFF Swann, longstanding supporter and member of St Breward Silver Band, passed away peacefully in February with family around him, following a short illness.

Aged 72 years, and originally from Buxton, Debyshire, Geoff was always seen out and about with the Silver Band with his euphonium and even, on occasion, conducting, having been playing with the band for many years when he regularly visited Cornwall on holidays.

He then moved from the north to Polzeath in 1990 with his wife Sheila, becoming a permanent fixture with his support for the village's band as well as playing in other local North Cornwall bands.
