COUNTRY Holidays for Inner City Kids, more commonly known as CHICKS, came first in Callington Tesco’s December/January round of voting for the Bags of Help scheme.

The scheme involves customers voting for their preferred group of participants using tokens received at the end of their shop. The money is raised from the sale of reusable carrier bags and is administered by the charity, Groundwork.

The money received will help CHICKS provide respite breaks for children aged eight to 15 in need of some time away from difficult circumstances.

Callington Tesco Community champion Carrie-ann Bailey said: “CHICKS is a wonderful charity that we support regularly through their events such as their Santa Fun Run, the work they do is vital for supporting children to have a positive childhood memories, I am so glad they have received help from our Bags of Help scheme.”
