Customers at Launceston Co-op had a helping hand with their shopping on Saturday, April 18 when Launceston Police Cadets attended for the afternoon and assisted shoppers with packing their shopping bags. PC Matt Kingdon from Launceston Police Station said: "The afternoon was a great success and enjoyed by all. The aim of the day was for the cadets to help their local community in a small way and promote the youth of our town and dispel the myth that they are all hoody wearing muggers. The Cadets have only been going for three months but in that time they have been involved in several projects and community initiatives. The work carried out by the Cadets achieves many aims within the community, and the whole time it is installing life skills to the youngsters aged from 13 to 17 years. Over the summer months the cadets will be regularly seen at local events and we would encourage people to come up and have a chat. The Neighbourhood Team would like to thank Launceston Co-op for their continued support."
