ON Sunday November 15 Alistair Prades travelled to Truro to compete in the Kerrier Junior U-13 Badminton Tournament where he won the Boys Singles Trophy.

Devon County player Alistair from Shebbear, who attends Holsworthy Community College, played extremely well in order to overcome stiff opposition on his way to the final including tough matches against fellow Devon team-mates in both the quarter and semi finals before beating Cornwall County player Liam Sillifant from Launceston in the final.

Alistair also travelled to Bath University on Saturday November 21 as part of a 4 boy/ 4 girl Devon County team to compete in the regional rounds of the U-13 National Team Challenge Event. Several of the teams (including Devon) fielded England International players. The Devon squad after playing matches against Avon, Cornwall, Dorset, Hampshire and Somerset came in runners-up to Dorset and have qualified for the National Finals to be held in Hertfordshire next February — a fantastic achievement.
