IT WAS two in a row for Budeiful Brides at the South West Wedding Awards when the Bude-based bridal shop picked up the accolade for ‘best bridal outfitter’ for the second year on the trot, while it was also a night of celebration for Sobeautylicious and Sobridal.
The South West Wedding Awards are Devon and Cornwall’s premier people’s choice awards for wedding service excellence.
The awards recognise the businesses that exceed the expectations for their customers, providing outstanding service and inspire their customers to want to actively and positively promote them.
This year the ceremony was held in Liskeard.
Speaking of her award, Emily Benny, owner of Budeiful Brides said: “It was judged on customer reviews that had been married in 2014/2015 and then once the finalists had been picked it went down to a judges decision.”
In the customer reviews, the businesses are judged on five key areas: service excellence, excellent product quality, value for money, outstanding commitment, and professional standards.
Emily added: “It’s amazing that I have won for the second year in a row and I would not be able to do it without my husband Jack and my customers.
“I try so hard to give the best customer service and the best gowns for my Budeiful brides. I hope to make it three in a row and we will be carrying on to make my Budeiful brides bigger and better!”
Another winner on the night was Melanie O’Reilly from Sobeautylicious and Sobridal who won the award for ‘best bridal beauty service’.
Melanie lives in Chilsworthy, but she visits bride’s homes to provide her beauty and bridal services. A lot of her work is based in the Bude and Holsworthy area as well as the local surrounding areas.
Some of the judges comments at the awards night included ‘Amazing, amazing, amazing’ and ‘The support for ‘Sobeautylicious and Sobridal’ was exceptional and the comments were really supportive of this business service’.
Melanie said: “I am continually overwhelmed with the enormous support from all my clients.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of my beautiful clients for making this award possible and I hope that I will always continue to make each bride feel as amazing and special as they should on their most wonderful wedding days.”
There were also two other local finalists at the awards who were unfortunate to miss out on the top prize in their categories.
Kylee Robertson from Hair TwentyOne was a finalist in the bridal hair services category and The Hat Shop, Holsworthy, was a finalist in the wedding enhancements category.
