MEMBERS of Holsworthy Lions have been recognised for their long service to the club.
Lions members Jeff Wyatt and Paul Gould were presented with long service awards on Saturday when the club provided the barbecue in the town square on the final evening of St Peter's Fair week.
Jeff was presented with a 25 years' long service award and Paul with one to recognise 15 years' of service to Holsworthy & District Lions.
Jeff is the official 'tail twister' for Holsworthy & District Lions. His main duty is 'to instil enthusiasm and good fellowship in the meetings, and to keep harmony'. Jeff also has the power to impose and collect fines from the members for any breach of etiquette at a meeting.
Paul is in charge of the Lions' barbecue, which has been used in the town square throughout St Peter's Fair week.
The Lions lend its barbecue and trailer to the Fair committee and this year it has been used by a variety of organisations, including Holsworthy Rubies WI, Holsworthy Cricket Club and Holsworthy Scouts.
