THE Launceston in Bloom presentation evening had an extra special cause for celebration this year — it was the 20th anniversary of the organisation.

The event, held at the White Hart Hotel, saw certificates presented to talented gardeners in a variety of categories.

There was also a film show of all the achievements of the association, followed by the best of the town’s gardens and businesses and completed by the best ten floral displays.

The film was a virtual tour of the town and the amount of flowers and planting displayed spectacular colour.

Launceston in Bloom chairman Margaret Wills said: “Thanks to all who took part and supported the association. During the 20 years, Launceston in Bloom has contributed thousands of voluntary hours to the town as well as raising all the funding for all the projects it has carried out.

“Everything is for the benefit of the whole of the community and supports tourism.”
