THERE was an excellent turnout for South Petherwin Cricket Club's annual dinner and presentation evening at the White Hart Hotel, Launceston recently.
A total of 51 people attended, enjoying a brilliant meal followed by the presentation of individual trophies.
The first team finished fourth in Division Three East, the second team third in Division Six East, whilst the 20/20 Evening Team won their league. Overall, it was a very satisfactory effort from everyone involved.
Trophy winners, first team:
Best batting average — Paul Clements, 35.25;
Best batting performance — Paul Clements, 111;
Best bowling average — Ewan Whorton, 14.61;
Best bowling performance — Kevin Horrell, 6 for 46;
Players' player of the year — Ewan Whorton.
Second team:
Best batting performance — Adrian Warne 123, not out;
Best batting average — Adrian Warne, 71.57;
Best bowling performance — Mike Searle, 5 for 11;
Best bowling average — Rob Taskis, 12.33;
Players' player of the year — Adrian Warne;
20/20 evening league batsman of the year — Ian Clements;
20/20 evening league bowler of the year — Gareth Clements;
Clubmen of the year — Vi Travis and Bill Smith;
Most improved player — Adam Warne;
Youth player of the year — Mark Taskis;
Lifetime achievement award — Andy Hill.
