AROUND 20 children, from age six to eleven, and a group of adults learned inside hints and tips of how a character is created by author and illustrator Claire Barker on Monday, February 12. She paid a visit to Holsworthy Library for a 'heroes and villains' workshop and talked about her book 'Magical Mail.' Children were inspired by Claire and devised their own characters and made 'missing' and 'wanted' posters. The half term event was held as part of National Libraries Day and was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Librarian Jean Frayne said it was "brilliant." "The children absolutely loved it," she said. There were also some new faces as well. "We are trying to publicise our libraries as much as possible." Look our for more library fun during the Easter holidays.
