POUNDSGATE rower Tom Rainey has entered the record books 27 days into his North Atlantic crossing with friend Lawrence Walters.
The two-man team, Ocean Valour, rowed 112.5 nautical miles in 24 hours to break the existing Guinness World Record by nearly ten nautical miles. The record was validated on Tuesday.
The good news has raised the lads' spirits enormously after they spent a gruelling ten days stuck circling a strong Atlantic current.
