A work created by an artist from Coads Green will be heading for the international fashion circuit and boutiques in London, New York and Los Angeles.
Sarah Perry has been commissioned to produce the work by fashion designer Ali Mapletoft — who spotted her beautiful creations online.
She has asked Sarah to use her embroidery skills to hand-sew a design onto an exclusive shirt she has created.
Sarah, who runs her business, Sarah J Perry designs, from her home, said she was thrilled her work would be reaching such an exclusive audience.
"It is an amazing opportunity. We received an approach from Ali, who had seen my work on the internet. I will be sewing the pieces and they will appear on shirts which will then be shown at international fashion shows."
Ali Mapletoft said: "What attracted me to Sarah's work was the skill and detail that come together to produce a life-like bird in embroidery.
"I love the way designers like Alexander McQueen and Mary Katrantzou use embroidery in their work, and wanted to use it in my own work with a botanical or natural history feel.
"Sarah's work seems ideal for fashion because it captures nature in thread in such a convincing and fluid way."
