THE Holsworthy Detachment of Devon Army Cadet Force (ACF) has received thanks and praise from the organisers of the annual Ruby Run. As well as marshalling duties the cadets enter a relay team to run the challenging 13.5-mile half marathon, which has raised thousands of pounds for local good causes since it began in 2003. Organisers John Allen and Arthur Stewart visited the cadets last week and were presented with a cheque for £130 raised by the cadets. Mr Allen said: "The organisers of the Ruby Run would like to thank the Holsworthy Army Cadets for their help on race day — they do an excellent job dealing with the competitors' luggage and various marshalling duties. "We would also like to thank them for getting sponsorship for their relay team.?With their help the Ruby Run will be making donations to the North Devon Hospice Longhouse appeal, Exeter Leukemia Fund and to other local good causes."
