ARMY Cadets from Holsworthy have given support to two local charities.

In June a team of cadets ran the Ruby Run relay raising £110 in sponsorship presented to to Philip Hackett president of Hatherleigh Rotary Club.

July saw the detachment’s annual coffee morning raise £375.50 for North Devon Hospice’s outreach centre in Holsworthy The Long House. Jess Burford-Redgrove from North Devon Hospice called in to collect a cheque from the cadets.

Supporting local good causes is just one aspect of Army Cadet Force (ACF) training.

The detachment reopens on September 2 and will be looking to recruit young people from 12 years of age.
