TWO major bus services connecting rural parts of the 'Post' community to larger towns, are to cease in November, following negotiations with bus provider Western Greyhound and Cornwall Council.
Bus operators were advised by Cornwall Council in July that its budget for the provision of tendered bus services was under considerable pressure and savings of around half a million pounds in the bus budget had to be found within the current financial year.
Notice was given by Cornwall Council officers on a number of routes at the end of July, and operators were also given "a list of proposed bus service cuts". Changes have been finalised following negotiations between Western Greyhound and county officers over the past couple of months.
