Over 100 people attended the event, which was organised by the area president, William Bryant who has organised the evening for the past two years.
The evening welcomes funeral directors from across the county and was a chance for them to meet and enjoy an evening of food, drink and entertainment. Secondary to this, the diner and dance was also an opportunity to raise money for this year’s chosen charity, Cancer Research UK.
Following a draw the evening managed to raise an impressive £718.35 for the charity.
Cornwall Association of Funeral Directors president William, of Arthur Bryant Funereal Services, was grateful for all that attended. He said: “It was a great night and chance for people to get together for a nice meal and enjoy each other’s company.”
William will be stepping down in February as his two year tenure as president will have ended.
He added: “It has been a great honour to have been president for the past two years and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time.”
The evening also hosted the national president of the Association who gave a speech to those attending.
William continued: “I would like to say it was a privilege to have David Barrington the national president of the National Association of Funeral Directors in attendance and like to thank him for his speech on the night. Thanks also go to Kim Hammerton and Sophie Barber from Cancer Research UK who spoke excellently about their charity and the need for further research.
“My last thanks go to Debbie Hatch and the team at The Falcon Hotel, who helped the whole evening run smoothly and supplied us with great food.”
