CHILDREN and staff of Class 7 at the Area Resource Base (ARB unit) at St Stephen’s Community Academy, Launceston, were visited by Moorlanders MCC — the motorcycle club that holds the annual egg run charity ride.

The ARB unit is a stimulating learning environment helping children with learning support needs reach their full potential.

Dave Carloss, chairman of Moorlanders MCC, presented them with a cheque for £1,000, part of the money raised by the egg run. This will be used to improve facilities and for specialised equipment for the children. The bikers also take chocolate Easter eggs, much to the delight of the children.

Class 7 is just one of the destinations on the Moorlanders’ route around local children’s care facilities.

Mr Carloss said: “We collected plenty of Easter eggs on the day, and are able to make donations totalling £3,500 to the charities supported by the egg run. We owe thanks to the bikers taking part, local businesses contributing prizes, our corporate sponsors and to Widows Sons South West Chapter for supporting our event.”
