Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, following an alleged stabbing. Officers attended a call to an area of the A30 near Lewannick at around 7.30pm on Monday, June 2 and found a man in his twenties with a chest injury, believed to have been caused by a stab wound. He was airlifted to Derriford Hospital. His condition is described as stable and he has not suffered any life threatening or changing injuries. Following investigations a 50-year-old man from East Devon was arrested in Somerset on suspicion of attempted murder. He remains in police custody. Officers believe the victim and suspect were involved in a minor traffic collision involving a white BMW and a silver coloured Vauxhall Astra convertible on the A30 before the altercation. Any witnesses who saw either vehicle or the two men in the area are asked to call 101, quoting reference 715 of June 2 2014.
