THE North Devon Hospice, which has a hospice facility in Holsworthy, The Long House, is asking for the public’s help to raise money for vital care.
It is inviting local communities, like Holsworthy, to unite on February 10, and donate one pound to support the vital care their hospices provide. The event will be called ‘Pitch in a Pound’ and will see local companies, schools and groups being encouraged to sign up for a fun-packed day of fundraising activities. They hope to make every pound count for local families that need it most.
There are many ways to get involved, from organising a dress-down day and charging a pound, to holding a bake sale or raffle. The North Devon Hospice and the team at The Long House, Holsworthy hope to see every workplace, school and group in North Devon take part and, most of all, have fun in the process.
The North Devon Hospice’s nurses look after 3,000 patients every year and cover over 800 square miles. They can only provide this vital care through public support, so every pound really does count.
North Devon firm ‘Applegate’ is sponsoring ‘Pitch in a Pound’ by covering all promotional costs — this means that every pound raised will go directly to the care and support of the hospice’s patients and their families affected by life-limiting illnesses.
