AN APPEAL has been made for any Bude-based voluntary organisation, that isn't already involved, to come together in joining a group who want to help the funds of parent organisations.
Therefore, with his interest in these organisations, he has been able to arrange a meeting of those concerned with the voluntary services in Bude.
David said: "I have observed over a long period, the willingness of the people of Bude to become involved in voluntary work of many kinds, which results in a range of excellent 'services' in our area."
However, David explained that it occurred to him that these good people are not very good at meeting together socially. As a result of his musings it seemed reasonable to try to correct this state of affairs with some sort of event at which would provide the chance to enjoy each other's company, provide a platform for promoting volunteering and to help the funds of the parent organisations.
David is now trying to spread the idea of the group and for any Bude-based voluntary organisation that hasn't been contacted to become
involved.
The current 'steering group' — at which has established a high level of interest in the possibility of arranging a summer ball/event — will be meeting again soon and if you are interested or want more details including times and place, contact David Giles at 5 Ocean View Road, Bude.
David said: "Details of time and place for said meeting will be forthcoming, as will a warm welcome to the group."
