AN EVENT which was first started six years ago to help Boscastle find its feet following the disasterous floods, has continued to be a success amongst locals and visitors alike.

Boscastle Food Festival, which took place over the course of the first weekend in October, received a fantastic turnout and the line-up of events across the two days drew people from far and wide.

The weekend commenced with eight celebrity chefs (Paul Ainsworth, Phil Thomas, Nathan Outlaw, Martin Dorey, Andy Appleton, Paul Harwood, Adrian Oliver and Aaron Jane) demonstrate their culinary skills as they performed to audiences.

The annual event is organised by Boscastle's Chamber of Trade and Commerce, as well as support from volunteers. It was derived to support the community and proceeds from the event go to local organisations. Some of the beneficiaries include: Boscastle Gig Club; the cricket and football clubs; First Response; primary school; Methodist Chapel; church and a number of others.
