On a pleasant Tuesday evening the Launceston Ladies 'A' team of Ruth Cornish, Jenny Worth, Hayley Frayn and Sarah Statton travelled to Wadebridge to face their Ladies 'B' team.

It did not take long for Sarah and Hayley to convincingly beat their first pair 6-2, 6-0, even though Hayley was playing with a borrowed racket! Ruth and Jenny fought back from a losing position in both of their sets against the second pair to win 7-5, 6-4.

However, the second round of matches was not as straight forward. Sarah and Hayley lost the first set of their match against the second pair 6-3, but they showed great character to turn the match around and eventually win the next set 6-4 and then go on to clinch the Championship Tie Break.

Meanwhile Ruth and Jenny got off to a fine start against the first pair by winning the first set in a Tie Break. Unfortunately they lost the next set and the match in a Championship Tie Break. Overall, it was a fun evening of tennis and Launceston Ladies 'A' team has made a great start to the season with two very convincing 9-3 victories.
