After a happy courtship they married at Fore St Methodist Chapel at Camelford on June 7, 1950. Stan and Marie are both well known figures in the town, Stan for his work with the Camelford Council, where he held the position of Town Mayor in 1980, the Town Trust, Camelford Carnival, St John's Ambulance Service and Camelford Town Football Club. Stan had a gents hairdressing business in the town centre for many years.
