BUDE Concert Orchestra’s concert on Saturday, March 4 at The Parkhouse, Bude really is an evening of favourites.

Think of your favourite aria or overture and it’s probably being performed at this concert, live, and just a few feet away from you. The orchestra love playing these pieces and the soloists are magnificent.

The conductor, Barry Carrington Moule will invite the audience to join in with the following choruses.

Soldiers’ Chorus from Faust by Gounod, Humming Chorus from Madame Butterfly by Puccini, Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves from Nabucco by Verdi, Brindisi from La Traviata by Verdi and The Toreador’s Song from Carmen by Bizet.

Elizabeth Hobbs will be delighting the audience again — you may remember her amazing performance in 2015 — with her exceptional performances of four most beautiful, and emotive, pieces.

Elizabeth sings Puccini’s finest and most popular arias ‘One Fine Day’ from Madam Butterfly and ‘O Mio Babbino Caro’ from Gianni Schicchi before returning after the interval to complete her performance with the famous ‘Nun’s Song’ from Casanova and ‘Where’ere you walk’ from Semele by Handel.

Mike Grieff will perform Gabriel’s Oboe from The Mission by Ennio Morricone.

The orchestra is proud to have Mike as a regular member of the orchestra and is always keen to share his exceptional talents with audiences and orchestra members alike, some of whom have especially requested this piece be included on the programme.

Light refreshments will be available in the interval and all are welcome to attend.

The orchestra is always pleased to see loyal audience members return to many of their concerts and are equally delighted to see new faces and visitors to the area.

Programmes will be available on the door or reserved in advance from any of the orchestra members.

Adults £6. Children £2.

The concert will start with the overture to The Barber of Seville by Rossini and end with Grand March from Aida. You are guaranteed to go home singing!
